Untitled - Etching
This etching uses a marbelling technique whereby bitumen,
a tar like mixture, is placed in a tray of water and manipulated
to create a marbelled effect as it is oil based and will
not mix with the water. The pattern is then transferred
onto a sheet of copper by dipping it into a tray. It is
then etched and printed using a range of colours to create
depth and movement.

This series once again employs the marbelling technique
and what is known as a "rainbow roll". The whole
concept is inspired by the patterns found in the wings of
butterflies stemming from a summer spent working on a butterfly
farm in Jersey!

Art & Design and have since been based in Waterford,
Ireland continuing to print and paint along with drawings
and commissioned pieces of a wide variety. My own
work is mostly abstract focusing on shapes & patterns
