Mary Lincoln has her own pottery studio, and attached
craft gallery in Ardmore, in west county Waterford.
It is located in a picturesque location. The pottery
is positioned high over the sea, overlooking the boat
cove and pier. Ardmore is a quiet fishing village
with an ancient history. St Declan founded a Christian
settlement here in 416 AD. The ancient round tower
and old cathedral attract many tourists. In addition,
the lovely walks, beaches and the quaint village,
make it an attractive tourist retreat.
Mary set up her pottery here in 1982. She has concentrated
on domestic functional pots made from terra cotta
clay, usually decorated in sponged blue and green
colours. More recently, she works on artistic pieces.
The pottery is only available from her studio, as
she does not wholesale her work. Visitors are warmly
welcomed, and you can watch the potters at work. Special
commissions are welcomed, be it for a special present,
or just some unusual pot you require for your home.
